Joanne Randolph is the President & CEO of the Women’s Business Center of North Alabama (WBCNA). She is the former President & CEO of BizTech, Huntsville’s technology incubator, which she helped launch in 1997. Ms. Randolph has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and spent the first 20 years of her career in the IT industry, working for NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center and Grumman Data Systems. Ms. Randolph began exploring small business opportunities in the early 90’s, an adventure that equipped her with experience in entrepreneurship, business management, mentoring, business incubation, international marketing, and telecommunications. In the late 90’s, Ms. Randolph applied her diverse background and expertise to the non-profit sector and found her calling. Under Ms. Randolph’s leadership, the Women’s Business Center was selected as the Alabama 2010 “Women’s Business Center of Excellence” by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the 2010 BBB of North Alabama Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, and the 2007 “Non-Profit of the Year” by the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce. The SBA selected Ms. Randolph as the 2007 “Women in Business Champion” for the State of Alabama and the 6-state region. She was also selected as the 2006 Small Business Advocate of the Year by the National Small Business Association (NSBA) for the Lower South Region comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, and Texas. In 2012, Alabama Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey appointed Ms. Randolph to the State Personnel Board, the State Employee’s Insurance Board, and the State Flexible Benefits Board. Ms. Randolph is currently on the Board of Directors of the Association of Women’s Business Centers (AWBC), a national organization of 100+ WBCs. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Alabama, serving on the Executive Committee as the District Chairman for North Alabama. She is currently a member of BancorpSouth Advisory Board for the Huntsville market, the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Economic Development, the Huntsville Rotary Club, the Women’s Economic Development Council, the NDIA/TVC Small Business Council, and the Huntsville Association of Small Businesses in Advanced Technology (HASBAT). She is a graduate of the 2000 Huntsville-Madison County Leadership Class and the 2003 Leadership Alabama Class. She was the 2005-2006 Chair of the Leadership Huntsville-Madison County Alumni Association and the 2011-2012 Chair of the Leadership Management Academy, a new leadership program she helped to launch. |
Kathy Babbitt, Program Director

Kathy Babbitt has over 20 years of business experience in entrepreneurship, leadership, project management, event planning, general management, customer service, financial planning, budgeting, marketing, community relationships, team building, and restaurant management. Though diverse, Ms. Babbitt’s background makes her a perfect fit for the Program Director position at WBCNA. Ms. Babbitt has extensive experience in the restaurant industry, which is a fast-paced, customer focused and time-sensitive environment. In addition to owning Market Street Café & Deli, she was previously the Managing Partner of Longhorn Steakhouse, General Manager of Crocodile Ed’s, Private Events Director of The Heritage Club, and Catering Director of The Select Hotel by Holiday Inn. She has managed budgets of over $1,000,000, supervised staffs of over 50, and coordinated as many as 1,300 events annually. She is a trained chef and graduated with honors from Sault College of Applied Arts & Technology in Ontario. She has been recognized for her work numerous times over the years as Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year by former employers. She also achieved several certifications and Awards in the hospitality industry. |
Leah Gradl, Public Relations Specialist

Ms. Gradl holds an M.B.A and a certificate in Federal Proposal Management from UAHuntsville as well as a B.A. in Management from Wittenberg University in Ohio. Ms. Gradl has in-depth experience in the mass communications & advertising industry in North Alabama. She began her career with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment and has been recognized at the regional andnational level for sales & project management achievements. Ms. Gradl also has extensive non-profit marketing experience in positions with the Ohio Foundation for Independent Colleges and the Wittenberg University Office of Advancement. Ms. Gradl is an entrepreneur Ms. Gradl is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Huntsville with her husband in 2004. She is a member of the Connect Class 12, the North Alabama Public Relations Council and of Rotaract Huntsville. Ms. Gradl is an avid runner and has completed two marathons.

Stacey Goldmon, Bookkeeper

Stacey Goldmon is the bookkeeper for the WBCNA and comes to the center with experience working with entrepreneurial start-ups and large government contractors. She graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2002 earning the distinction of Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration – Accounting degree. Upon graduation, Stacey joined the staff of BizTech, Huntsville’s technology incubator, as a project coordinator. In 2005, Ms. Goldmon became a Business Operations Specialist for SAIC Inc. (Science Applications International Corporation.) SAIC, Inc. is a fortune 500 government contracting company specializing in scientific, engineering, and technology applications. Ms. Goldmon consistently grew in her career at SAIC and ultimately held the position of Operations Controller where she was responsible for the financial oversight of a $50M operation. Since departing SAIC in 2011, Ms. Goldmon has devoted herself to family and community interests. Stacey has been married for 15 years to Marc Goldmon. Stacey and Marc have one child plus a miniature schnauzer. Ms. Goldmon’s other community interests include the Junior League of Huntsville, and the Huntsville Museum of Art Guild. Stacey and her family are active members of Trinity United Methodist Church.
